Lesson on prayer is a lesson that needs learning through experience all the time. Each time, the Lord teaches new lesson and the lesson goes higher and deeper. Based on the basic of prayer, that is prayer in Spirit or praying by exercising our mingled spirit, the Lord teaches peripheral things related to prayer. Praise the Lord for such a lesson on prayer taught by the Lord through the experiences of life!
After a year long of daily prayer for our daughter's admission to NTNU in Taipei, Taiwan, the Lord answered our prayers and she got selected. Then, we began a new line of prayer for the practical admission process where her documents need to be attested by the authorities concerned in the Indian government and then authenticated by the Taiwan embassy. For about two months the documents were not processed as expected. We hit a road block with petty unrealistic issues raised. However, we kept praying and even requested the church to pray for the matter. After much prayers, the Lord worked in ways beyond our expectations. As we called up the concerned persons, first the agent, he gave a new direction. Then, when we met the government officer, she was gracious and showed us what to do. After about ten days when I called up, she took a decisive action to authenticate the document within her official capacity as she knew we were running out of time. When we talked to the people in the embassy, explaining the actual situation, they had their own official meeting and confirmed what needed to be done. Meanwhile, we prayed and prayed for the Lord to come in and lead us through in the documents processing. Finally, week by week, documents were processed step by step. One Saturday afternoon, just before the church prayer meeting, we got the entire documents attested and authenticated from the government offices and the embassy. Then, we testified to the church how the Lord answered our prayers and led us to experience Him in all these matters.
Then, we picked up a new line of prayer for all the practical matters; of going to Taiwan, trusting the Lord as the financial source of supply, for the scholarship, and even for the studies and the living testimony in the university, sisters' house, and the church in Taipei. Every step of the way is by prayer. And as we prayed, we also gained the Lord and learned more lessons on prayer.
The lesson on prayer learned was on persistent prayer, simply and fully trusting in the Lord, experiencing Him in every practical detail, and also praising Him for who He is in answering and gaining us through the situations He allowed us to pass through.
