Second Visit to Prison

Remember those who are imprisoned as bound with them, those who are ill-treated as being yourselves also likewise treated in body. (Hebrews 13:3, RecVer)

On 1st Oct 2024, we visit our brothers in the prison in Mathura. My Goodland: A Visit to Prison

On the 29th of Nov, after about two months, we visited them again as the brothers from the church in Gurugram. During the last two months, we had been praying and waiting for them to be bailed out. But the matter got delayed over and over again. In fact, I was personally waiting for the time that they would be released so that my next visit would be to pick them up from the prison. But the Lord knows best and I accept all His arrangements, though a little disappointed for them nor being granted bail when they should legally have been granted. I learned to restrain my feelings and accept the sovereign arrangement of the Lord.

Through this incident, the Lord has been working intrinsically into our being and made clear what new steps He wanted to take in this country, especially in North India. The Lord allowed this so that we can make a review of the way we have been living our Christian life and practicing the church life. Through this, some dormant saints were revived, and the prayer of the church in Gurugram was very much strengthened in both personal and corporate prayer life. In fact, I could testify that our prayer life had been revolutionized! Since the incident, the whole church could come together to pray together online every night after our Life-study pursuit. And with this as the background, we also strengthened the burden of fasting and prayer, open to all the saints in the church life. This burden also personally affects my prayer life. Praise the Lord!

As brothers in the church, we coordinated to meet our brothers in the prison. We were mutually encouraged by this visit. I had some personal fellowship for certain official matters with a brother and passed on some offerings. Likewise, five of us met five of them and spent about half an hour for fellowship. Beyond that, the prison rule did not allow further meetings.

Due to the prolonged stay in the prison, the brothers too have been through some concerns related to the case filed against them. The brothers who are responsible for the legal matters have been doing their best in coordination with the lawyers. Despite all their labors and efforts, the opposite party put up a delaying tactic under the ambit of the controversial bill passed in that state. All legal options have been utilized. Now, we leave the matter to the Lord how He will lead us through. We are a little disheartened but did not lose hope in the Lord. God is still on the throne and He knows what is best for us all. Let His will be done in His own time.

With this ongoing case, the enemy has also been very fierce in attacking the saints and the churches in North India. It has become more and more obvious in the way he manipulated the ill-intent of the opposition party and the system. He attacked first from the outside of the church, and now he also attacks the church by causing doubt, fear, anxiety, and a blame game among some weaker saints. But the Lord is the Lord and He will not allow the gates of Hades to prevail against the church. We stand on guard and stay alert against the enemy's attack. The Lord has also been speaking to us daily on the line of persecution that the Lord Jesus Himself faced while in His earthly ministry. No matter what, we are victorious in the victory of our Lord Jesus the Victor!

Lord, bless Your move in North India.

Fasting and Prayer

But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting. Mt 17:21

The Lord Jesus Christ is the best pattern of a man of prayer. While He was in His early ministry, He lived a God-man life of prayer. He did everything according to the Father's will and spent time with the Father alone in prayer. Even when He could have exercised His rights and authority, He chose not to. instead, He submitted Himself fully and did the will of the Father.

Tears of Remorse

On the 1st of November, a brother gave a surprise and impromptu visit. As he sat in the living room and I was next to him, I gave him the liberty to speak and pour out whatever he wanted to pour out. For sure, he came with a definite purpose. Meanwhile, I also felt the need immediately to not handle him alone. So, I invited another two brothers to join with me in the fellowship. Thank God that two brothers were one with me, sitting with me as we listened to this brother.

By the way, this new brother was a little intoxicated as it was evident from his facial expression and the smell from his bodily presence. His family was gained about a decade ago while they were in DLF-1. Later, they shifted to New Delhi and we lost touch as they left the fellowship and decided not to receive our calls or shepherding visits anymore. Due to many reasons, mostly their family matters, and their unwillingness to take the fellowship, they took their own way against my personal and brotherly fellowship to them before they left. Since then, they have been completely out of touch. This is also a lesson that I am yet to learn a complete lesson on shepherding. May the Lord forgive me for my shortage in not being able to shepherd this family.

As this brother started narrating his ordeals, he started weeping and weeping. He could not even speak properly as he wept and wept in front of us. At one point, he even came and tried to kneel down before me which I objected sternly. But I encouraged him to release what was in his heart. Finally, he slowly calmed down and narrated all the tragedies his family has been going through since the time they left the church life. These are his own words, I paraphrased it.

"Brother, from the time we left the church life, everything went downhill. Now, we have come to the bottom of the pit. Though we have everything, we actually have nothing. I want to come back to the church. Please forgive me and accept me."

I immediately comforted him and encouraged him that they could come back anytime and that they were welcome always. In fact, I proposed that we also visit his family provided that they are willing for us to visit as his wife objected to our visit and never shared their address in the past. He also mentioned that his wife was diagnosed with a third-stage breast cancer. As he described the situation, he wept again saying that everything was over. But I encouraged him by telling him that the Lord still loves them, the church still loves them, and we still love them. Then, we prayed for him and his family. He also prayed after we prayed.

I brought this matter to the brothers' fellowship of the church and we prayed for this family that the Lord would recover them back. He had come and shed tears of remorse. Our door is always open to whoever is willing to come for fellowship.

Lord, fully recover our brother's family.

Ministry of the Word Distribution in Gurugram

On the 14th of November, the Lord opened the door for the ministry of word to be introduced and distributed to the two main bible colleges in Gurugram. Though the ministry station for India has been here in this city for about two decades now, not once have we gone to visit these Bible colleges. The two main reasons for not visiting were, first, the oldest Bible college was visited when we first came to Gurugram in 2005/2006. However, the college after receiving the free ministry literature rejected it due to someone's opposition. We came to this through one of the Bible college students who mentioned what transpires there in the college. Since then, we have not paid attention to someone who would not receive the ministry. Second, a decade after that incident, the son of the owner of the same Bible college found us online and visited our office in Gurugram where he purchased all the ministry books available at that time, for the college library. Since he came and purchased all the ministry books in publication, we did not find the need to go there again. And we were not aware of another Bible college in Farukhnagar. Though I heard about it through another brother I did not know that it was a full-fledged Bible college. My thought was that it was a small Christian institute.

But this time, I received an email requesting twenty free copies of Affirmation & Critique. While checking the address, it was the same college that I heard about. So, I felt it was the time to visit the college personally. On the one hand to deliver the required journals and on the other hand to have an onsite visit of the college premises itself. In that way, there can be an open door for the ministry literature to spread further in North India even through Christina institutes, workers, and believers. After over an hour's drive, we arrived at the college and met with the Chief Librarian, the Director, and then the Principal of the college. As we introduced the ministry books, they were interested in getting all the free books and also to review the ministry books in English and Hindi. So, the ministry publication was delivered to them for their review and further order, if need be. Praise the Lord that they were receiving the ministry books for the first time. May the Lord grant them the spirit of wisdom and revelation to see the divine revelation of the Bible expounded through the minsitry literature.

On our way back, about half an hour's drive from Farukhnagar, we drop by another Bible college at Dhankot. Though it was an impromptu visit, the principal accepted the ministry books for their reference, and a box of ministry books in Hindi was handed over to them. In fact, this college already received the ministry publication about a decade ago.

In this way, despite the opposition from the enemy in spreading the gospel in North India, the Lord still preserved some open doors through which the ministry literature could still spread. Later, we had a home meeting at a new one's home in Sector 4 where the entire family except the head of the family, a brother in the church life, is yet to fully receive and accept the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. They have been joining the home meeting and have called upon the name of the Lord many many times. Gradually, the Lord is saving His chosen ones for His testimony in the midst of the local inhabitants.

Lord, bless Your move in North India.

Paying the Price to Gain Christ

God’s plan in creating man in His image and according to His likeness is that, God could come into man, live in man, and that man could express and represent God on this earth. This plan of God was partially fulfilled in Genesis as Jacob was transformed to Isreal and expressed God. In addition, Joseph, after passing thtough many sufferings, reigned in life, literally ruling over the entire Egypt at his time.
And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of heaven and over the cattle and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth. (Genesis 1:26, RecVer)
From the reigning aspect of the life of Joseph, we could see that to gain food, four kinds of price need to be paid. The people who came to Joseph for food paid four kinds of prices: their money, their cattle, their land, and themselves.  These four items cover all the prices we need to pay today. When we pay with our money, cattle, lands, and ourselves, we receive all four types of supply. Money represents convenience, cattle represents the means of livelihood, and land represents the source of supply. And finally, the giving of their lives for food represent the consecration of one's life fully to the Lord.
And there was no food in all the land, for the famine was so very severe that the land of Egypt and the land of Canaan languished because of the famine. And Joseph collected all the money that was to be found in the land of Egypt and in the land of Canaan for the grain which they bought, and Joseph brought the money into Pharaoh’s house. And when the money from the land of Egypt and from the land of Canaan had been spent, all the Egyptians came to Joseph saying, Give us food, for why should we die in your presence? For our money is gone. And Joseph said, Bring your livestock, and I will give you food in exchange for your livestock, if your money is gone. And they brought their livestock to Joseph, and Joseph gave them food in exchange for the horses and for the flocks of sheep and for the herds of cattle and for the donkeys; and he fed them with food in exchange for all their livestock that year. And when that year had ended, they came to him the second year and said to him, We cannot hide from my lord that our money has been spent, and the herds of cattle are my lord’s. There is nothing left in the sight of my lord except our bodies and our lands. Why should we die before your eyes, both we and our land? Buy us and our land in exchange for food, and we and our land will become servants to Pharaoh. And give us seed that we may live and not die, and that the land may not be desolate. (Genesis 47:13-19, RecVer)
In the spiritual application today, we need to consecrate our whole life to the Lord in detail by paying the four kinds of prices. This entails our consecration in giving up all that we have, only to gain Christ as life. Surely, many things that we love and many things convenient to us may be exchanged for gaining Christ as our food and life. Our paying the price to come to the word of God, spending time in prayer, attending the various church meetings, preaching the gospel, and shepherdig the new ones, are different aspects of paying the price. No pay, no gain. No price, no value.

In the conclusion of the Life-study meeting on Genesis last Tuesday, we learned and fellowshipped this important matter to all the saints so that we all can pay the price to gain Christ. Only in this way, can we gain Christ and be constituted with Christ to express Him and represent Him wherever He placed us. What a glorious ending of the Life-study of Genesis!

Lord, grace us to pay the price to gain Christ and be Your expression and representation in this earth.

Burden for Fasting Prayer

As the Lord moved through the early Christians, the enemy also did his best to frustrate the Lord’s move as it was, and is, and will always be a spiritual warfare between Satan and God. Today, especially in North India, we are facing the same spiritual battle. This time, the battle is so fierce that we can visibly see the fight. Four sisters and two brothers were imprisoned for the gospel sake in Noida a few months ago, and a month later,  five brothers were imprisoned in Mathura, also again for the sake of the gospel. In the midst of this, many many things transpired in the lives of the saints in the churches in North India especially. The family members of the imprisoned saints went through untold hardship. Yet, the Lord in His mercy has been preserving each of them to date. Because of this raging spiritual battle, the Lord also taught us many life lessons. In this battle, the enemy has been trying his best to create turmoil in the church life through some weaker saints. It has become very obvious when the family members gathered together for an update concer ing the situstion and steps taken, complaining and murmuring came out of some of the saints' mouth. But the Lord is the Victor and He will lead this battle into victory. Because of this, to shepherd the saints, we have been encouraged to study Acts 12 with the help of the Life-study. Last Saturday, we read this message in the brothers' fellowship and also in the prayer meeting and prayed a strong in one accord.

This incident also reminded us to pray unceasingly. So, we fellowshipped to strengthen our personal prayer life and also our corporate prayer life. And we also encouraged the saints to fast and pray atleast once in a week. Yes, fasting prayer not in a religious ritualistic way, but fasting prayer in a way of life led by the Spirit with burdens from the Lord. Now, the saints have picked up the burden of prayer, even fasting prayer, having realised the significance of prayer in times of engaging in intense spiritual battle.

The goal of fasting prayer is for the strengthening of the saints, the churches, and the Lord's move. So that, God can have His free way to move in an intensified way, ushering in the growth in life and maturity of the saints to be overcomers and also for the spreading and multiplication of His word all over India, especially, North India.

From this coming week, all the saints are encouraged and some have seriously picked the burden to pray and even fast and pray. Praise the Lord! Out of seemingly confused situation, the Lord brought out something precious, the practice of persistent prayer.

Lord, gain our payer life! Make us all a man of prayer.

Excerpt from the Life-study of Acts, Message 34.

A BATTLE BETWEEN GOD AND SATAN

There are a number of other matters in Acts 12:1-24 that we need to consider. First, when Peter was in prison, “prayer was being made fervently by the church to God concerning him” (v. 5). This indicates that behind the scene there was a battle between spiritual forces, a battle between God and His enemy, Satan. Apparently the conflict was between Herod and Peter; actually it was between God and His enemy. No doubt, Herod was instigated by Satan. Satan was behind him and even within him. Therefore, the church fought the battle with God against Satan, the evil one.

This battle was fought not by the flesh but by prayerThe church prayed, and the weapon used by the church to defeat Herod and the spiritual force behind him was not of the flesh but of the Spirit.

THE WORD OF GOD GROWING AND MULTIPLYING

Finally, 12:24 says, “But the word of God grew and multiplied.” The previous verse says that Herod was eaten by worms and expired. Then this verse begins with “but.” Herod expired, but the word of God grew. The word of God is actually the Lord Himself because the word is the container of the Lord. Therefore, for the word of God to grow actually means that the Lord grew.

Acts 12:24 says that the word of God not only grew but also multiplied. The word does not grow and multiply in itself. Rather, the word grows with the believers and multiplies with the churchWhen the believers grow, the word within them grows. When the churches multiply, the word multiplies within the churches. The fact that the word of God grew and multiplied indicates that in ancient times the believers and the churches were filled with the word and were one with the word. This is a strong sign of the Lord’s victory in His battle against the evil one.

God, My Only Source of Service

As I pursued the Lord by pursuing the word of God, I was so supplied by the ministry of word concerning the pattern in the mountain. I saw an unrefutable spiritual principle that all Christians must follow. That is,  to follow the pattern in the mountain. That is, to do exactly what God had commanded, not less, not more, but exactly according to God’s words. To do anything lesser or beyond would be an act of disobedience, and to not do at all would be an act of rebellion. O how careful and serious we must be in serving the Lord. The excerpts from below helped to see this truth clearly and change the way I take God’s word and serve God.

Therefore, I concluded that to serve God one must first of all be crystal clear about God’s clarion call. And then consecrate oneself fully to serve God according to His calling. God only must be the source of our service to Him. Any other way, at best is just voluntary and at worst, lawlessness.

Lord, preserve me in my service to serve You exactly according to Your calling. For You are My only source of life, life supply,  and service. Save me from anything other than You, O Lord!

In spiritual work, the most important thing is to know the “ pattern...in the mountain” (Heb. 8:5). There are many things that are important in spiritual work; the lack of any one of them causes our work to lose its spiritual usefulness and brings about God’s displeasure. But among these many things, the most important one is the “pattern...in the mountain.” The pattern in the mountain is simply God’s plan. If there is no comprehension of God’s plan, there is no possibility for God’s work.

Whatever He says to you, do” (John 2:5b).

In the Body of Christ, we are just members; we have to be absolutely under the control of the Head.

“Holding the Head” (Col. 2:19).

Psalm 19:13 says, “Keep Your servant from presumptuous sins; Do not let them have dominion over me; Then I will be blameless and cleared of great transgression.”

God knows what He wants. All the things that He wants from us are revealed either through the Bible or through the Holy Spirit. Therefore, whatever He has not said is simply work He does not want. In spiritual work it is not a matter of quantity, but a matter of measuring up to the standard of being useful to God and matching His desire. The most important task for a worker of Christ is to know exactly what God wants him to do and the time and method that he should use to carry it out.

The most glorious thing in a man’s life is that he would do the things that God wants him to do on the very ground that God has set for him. For every believer, there is a pathway predetermined by God for him to walk on.

God only uses men chosen by Him to do His work. He does not want those who enlist and volunteer to do His work. Those who are chosen by God have absolutely no freedom. If they try to be free and go their own way, they will only stumble and suffer more.

Today we bear a heavy responsibility; we must be crystal clear about God’s instructions before we start working. Before we receive God’s command, we must do absolutely nothing. God’s command is an expression of God’s desire. If we want to be a useful vessel in His hands, we must secure God’s command before acting. If we do anything which God has not commanded, we cannot please Him.

May God bring us to a stage where there is no self, so that we will have no thought of our own, but will only have God’s will. Every time we work, we must first know if it is God’s will or not. If we know for certain that this is God’s will, then we should be encouraged to proceed according to the pattern He has shown us.

Training in Chandigarh

In 2014, in coordination with the FTTA (full-time trainees in Anaheim, USA), we propagated in the city of Chandigarh for a month. From day one till the end, we witnessed the work of the Holy Spirit in manifold ways, especially in gospel preaching and bringing sinners to salvation and water baptism every day. Then, at the end of the one-month propagation, the church in Chandigarh was raised up! Last weekend, from 8 to 10 November, we had a serving ones training in  Chandigarh. Paradoxically, it was after a decade for me to meet with the church again despite being involved in the raising up of the church a decade ago. Well, the reason being, I took my hands off, if I was not assigned by the Lord through the fellowship in the Body to continue to come for the shepherding. Though many other saints have been frequenting this city for shepherding, for me it was a visit after a decade. Thank God that the church belongs to Him and He has been faithfully shepherding the saints in this city, I was especially glad to see the leading brothers and some of the key saints who have been serving faithfully for the Lord's testimony to date. Praise the Lord for the church in Chandigarh!

During this three-day training, the Lord's hand has been working on me deeply. It was a real training in deed, not merely in words. Though there were eight messages, a respeaking of the recent Oct ITERO 2024 messages on living in the reality of the Kingdom of God, to me it was an "operational message." The messages I have heard are now operating in my being to deal with myself, flesh, and natural man. At this age and in this stage of my Christian life, this is what I need. The Lord's hand is dealing with me to fulfill the purpose of the training. This is a sign that the Lord is the living God and He has been operating in me through His word!

Hebrews 4:12For the word of God is living and operative and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit and of joints and marrow, and able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

When the Lord's hand operates in me, I simply and fully surrender myself to the Lord, giving Him the full ground to touch every part of my inward being. He knows me best. He is my best Physician. I simply submit myself to His operating hand as a patient patiently. This is the price I am paying. I worship and thank the Lord for his sovereignty in loving me and dealing with me. I pray that He will continue to work on me and accomplish the work that He has started. I want to be His overcomer so that He may deal with everything that needs to be dealt with now. O Lord Jesus!

Outwardly, I simply followed all the brothers' arrangements and enjoyed their service. Whereas ten years ago, I was laboring very much for almost all practical arrangements for the one-month propagation. From planning to execution, I was involved in almost every minute detail. But this time, I enjoyed the arrangement of the brothers in the church in New Delhi and Chandigarh. I receive the perfecting work of the Lord in me inwardly instead. According to the need of the time, the Lord does His work in me. I believe the purpose of the training for me was accomplished. Praise the Lord!

If Only God

These days I have been brought into the experience of knowing God in a deeper and personal way. Though I have been burdened for the Lord's move in India, especially North India, and particularly my locality, Gurugram, things are not in my hands. I have accepted the fact that unless God does His work, all my zeal for God's works means nothing. Yes, my burden may be good and genuine, but if the Lord does not do His work, all my so-called zeal and burden will amount to nothing. I can say this now because I have tried many methods and ways to execute my burden and serve according to my zeal. All that I could possibly do, I think, I have tried and done them mostly. Some resulted in something and many did not meet the result I expected at all. Nonetheless, I cannot do beyond what God does.

Ps 127:1Unless Jehovah builds the house, Those who build it labor in vain. Unless Jehovah keeps the city, The guard watches in vain.

Ps 127:2It is vain for you to rise up early, To stay up late, To eat the bread of toil; All the same, He gives to His beloved while they sleep.

The gospel preaching, the shepherding, the home meetings, and group meetings, all have been going on regularly and I have discharged my responsibilities faithfully to the best of my ability. Beyond what I can do, I leave the rest to God. I have no regrets. Though there may not be concrete results to see the fruit of my labor now, I trust the Lord that in His own time, He will manifest what His heart wants to accomplish. I am not disappointed or discouraged. I continue to do what I need to do by simply trusting in the Lord for His hands to move and expecting Him to bless the works that He commissioned me to do. Beyond this, I can do nothing more and hope for nothing better. May His perfect will be done.

In His own time, He will accomplish all that He wants to accomplish. Until then, I simply wait and trust in Him. I move only if God moves, I work only if God works, and I simply will follow His leading. Therefore, as far as my church service is concerned, I trust the Lord to be faithful and leave the result to God.

If Only God does His work, His work will be done.

Lord, do your work in me and in us and in the church in Gurugram!

First Visit to the Saints in Sitapuri

About ten years ago the saints in Sitapuri were recovered and shepherded into the church life in New Delhi. Since then, I have been hearing about these saints who speak mostly Matu but have never even once visited them despite being invited a couple of times. I guess the time was not ripe then. However, last Monday, the 11th of Nov 2024, I received a surprise and emergency call from one of the responsible brothers in the church in New Delhi to attend a Memorial Day meeting of one of the sisters who went to be with the Lord while we all were in Chandigarh for the Serving One's Training. Since many brothers were also out of station, it was fellowshipped that I could join the brothers and stand with the family during this time of grief. I did not have much time to think and consider as the matter was urgent. Though I had other work to attend to, I believe that was what I should prioritize. Therefore, I amened the fellowship.

In fact, my Bible reading portion that morning was exactly on the death and burial of Sarah from Genesis 23. When I received the call, I also knew that the Lord had already given me the message for the meeting. The message was to preach the gospel of the God of resurrection! As most of the attendees would be saints from different Christian groups in addition to the saints in the church life. Then, I prepared and prayed for the message and it became perfectly clear what I needed to minister. Thus, I attended the meeting with two other brothers from Gurugeram and ministered on the God of resurrection.

The footnotes of the Holy Bible Recovery Version helped me in finetuning my understanding of the entire episode on why Abraham was so particular about the burial of Sarah. All the deeds Abraham did in purchasing the burial ground and burying his beloved wife Sarah and later, he himself along with Isaac, Rebecca, Jacob, and Leah were buried there too. The spiritual significance of these burials with its geographical location pointed to the future hope of the New Jerusalem. Quote from the Recover Version:

That he would give me the cave of Machpelah, which is his and which is at the end of his field. For the full price let him give it to me in your midst for the possession of a burial place.  Gen. 23:9

Machpelah Gen. 23:17; 25:9; 49:29-32; 50:13
Meaning double, doubling. Abraham and Sarah, Isaac and Rebekah, and Jacob and Leah, three couples, were all buried in the cave of Machpelah (v. 19; 25:9; 49:29-32; 50:13). The names Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob are the components of the divine title of God, who is the God of resurrection (Exo. 3:15; Matt. 22:32 and note).

Gen. 23:17 So the field of Ephron, which was in Machpelah and which was before Mamre, the field and the cave which was in it and all the trees that were in the field, which were in all its territory, were assured
Gen. 23:18 To Abraham for a possession in the presence of the children of Heth, in the presence of all who went in at the gate of his city.
Gen. 23:19 And after this, Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field of Machpelah before Mamre (that is, Hebron) in the land of Canaan.
Gen. 23:20 And the field and the cave that is in it were assured to Abraham for the possession of a burial place from the children of Heth.

Note on field
Although Abraham, Sarah, and Isaac were living at Beer-sheba (21:33), Sarah died and was buried in Hebron, the place of fellowship with God. Hebron is between Beer-sheba on the south and Jerusalem on the north. Thus, Hebron was not only a place of fellowship but also a way that led to Jerusalem. In spiritual significance, the cave of Machpelah in Hebron (v. 19), in which Sarah was buried, is the gateway to the New Jerusalem.

The cave of Machpelah was at the end of a field, in which were many trees (v. 17). A field is a place where life grows; thus, it implies resurrection. Abraham did not bury Sarah in a place of death but in a place of life, a place full of resurrection (1 Cor. 15:36 and note). This indicates that Abraham believed in the God of resurrection (Rom. 4:17) and was filled with the expectation that his wife would be resurrected and would be in the city which has the foundations, the New Jerusalem. According to Abraham’s realization, Sarah’s death was not a termination but an entering into the gate of resurrection, the gateway into the expected city and the better country (Heb. 11:10, 16).

1 Thes. 4:13 But we do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning those who are sleeping, that you would not grieve even as also the rest who have no hope.

1 Thes. 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and arose, so also those who have fallen asleep through Jesus, God will bring with Him.

1 Thes. 4:15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are living, who are left remaining unto the coming of the Lord, shall by no means precede those who have fallen asleep;
1 Thes. 4:16 Because the Lord Himself, with a shout of command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, will descend from heaven, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
1 Thes. 4:17 Then we who are living, who are left remaining, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and thus we will be always with the Lord.

1 Thes. 5:9 For God did not appoint us to wrath but to the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

1 Thes. 5:10 Who died for us in order that whether we watch or sleep, we may live together with Him.

1 Thes. 5:11 Therefore comfort one another, and build up each one the other, even as you also do.

On my first visit to the saints in Sitapuri on the Memorial Day Meeting of a sister I never knew in the flesh, the Lord ministered His word on living out Christ as the God of resurrection who is in our spirit today with the reality of becoming the New Jerusalem. This incident also reminded me of the verse which states:

It is better to go to the house of mourning than to go to the house of feasting, Because that is the end of every man,  And the living takes it to heart. Ec. 7:2

By the way, we also visited the family members of the bereaved saints and an elderly brother. A very timely visit beyond my imagination.

Here is a lesson that I have been learning. Always wait for the Lord's perfect timing for everything. Never act on your own nor on other's insistence. God knows best. And let God be your God for all things at all times.

Bible Reading: Forty Sixth Time

Today, the 7th of November 2024, the Lord enabled me to complete reading the Holy Bible for the 46th time! Then, I prepared myself to start the next round for the 47th time. This has been my burden to read and read the Bible; the best and the only Book that is worth reading, over and over again.

By God's grace, I pray and hope that this grace of reading the Bible be my lifestyle. And that this habit may continue as long as the Lord graces me with the time and the strength to do so.  Though the will is present with me, the working out of the will is all up to the Lord. Therefore, I look to Him for His mercy day by day.

For over a month, five of our brothers have been imprisoned. At times, when I imagine to have been in their stead, the thing I would miss the most would be my Bible reading. I wish and pray that there be never a time when I will be kept away from my Bible. It will be very hard for me to live without my Bible. Since I have been reading my Bible every day for about an hour, not a day I can pass now without reading my Bible. I have been addicted to reading he Bible already. It will be a torture to me not to read my Bible as usual, daily. Prayer can be done without any Bible, as it is a matter of the spirit. But Bible reading has to be objective; reading the physical Bible and seeing the Lord in every line. The is the best way to see visions from God. This reminds me of my childhood hymn, More About Jesus Would I Know (Hymn: More about Jesus would I know)
1 More about Jesus would I know,
More of His grace to others show;
More of His saving fulness see,
More of His love who died for me.
More, more about Jesus,
More, more about Jesus;
More of His saving fulness see,
More of His love who died for me.
2 More about Jesus let me learn,
More of His holy will discern;
Spirit of God my teacher be,
Showing the things of Christ to me.
3 More about Jesus; in His Word,
Holding communion with my Lord;
Hearing His voice in every line,
Making each faithful saying mine.
4 More about Jesus; on His throne,
Riches in glory all His own;
More of His kingdom’s sure increase;
More of His coming, Prince of Peace.
As I stated in my forty-fifth reading of the Bible, I still state the same now. My desire is much more than reading the Bible 46 times. Now, I pray that I can read the Bible a hundred times in my lifetime. I don't know how many more years the Lord will give me in this earthly tabernacle. If His will be so, I pray for His grace that within the many years still remaining or until He returns, I may be especially graced to hit the century of reading the Holy Bible a hundred times.  I can only trust the Lord and do my best to faithfully read and read His word day by day. It's up to the Lord to fulfill this dream of reading the Bible a hundred times.

Praise the Lord for this grace of reading His word! Praise the Lord that I can still read and read the word of God!

Brothers in Confinement

Concerning our brothers in confinement, I have been asked again and again about the well being of the brothers, and also the status of the bail application. Since I was not directly involved in the legal proceedings, all that I know was what was told to me. But one thing I have been doing daily is to pray for the brothers. Officially, I was also asked by the brothers in the publication work to update them of the situation. For a couple of days I had nothing to update as nothing was updated to me. But the moment I got a confirmation of the present situation on our Wednesday coworkers' fellowship, I drafted a report and cross-cheched with a brother for correction and confirmation. Once the details were update, checked, corrected, and confirmed, I sent the update just to one brother who will do the needful.  The report is below:

Update: Our Brothers in Confinement
---------------------------------------------
Remember those who are imprisoned as bound with them, those who are ill-treated as being yourselves also likewise treated in body.
(Hebrews 13:3, RecVer)
---------------------------------------------

Appealing for Bail in the High Court

Christian lawyers who have been representing various Christian groups in similar cases are now working for us. We applied for bail in the lower court only once and that was rejected. Now, we are going to the High Court for applying bail.

Monday 4 Nov: Application date for High Court bail plea.

Hearing date may be granted in about a week's time.
---------------------------------------------
The brothers have been doing well in the prison. Two of them even shared the gospel to their inmates. One of the inmates called upon the Lord’s name and was saved! The very next day, he got bail. The inmate who was bailed testified to the brothers that God had sent them to the prison for His salvation!

The brothers have been resting well and have a lot of time to pray. They even testified that since they have a lot of time with no entanglement, they have been praying for the Lord’s move in North India especially for the state they are in. They requested that if we have any prayer points, they will pray from the prison!

Prayer Burdens
---------------------------------------------
Pray for the granting of date for the High Court bail plea to be submitted on 4th Nov 2024.

Pray for the brothers and lawyers preparing for the court hearing that God be their wisdom and Counsellor in all the legal proceedings.

Pray that the five brothers be granted bail and released.

Pray for the growing and multiplication of His word in North India.

Pray for the comforting and strengthening of all the family members of the brothers and the saints in the churches in North India.

The Lord is the Lord and He knows how to Lord over every situation. Sometimes, I felt the brothers in confinement have been enjoying life much more than those outside. Though this may sound paradoxical, but as far as I can tell, the brothers in confinement are resting and enjoying the Lord. As the update above, they have been the witnesses of the Lord Jesus Christ even inside the prison! Besides, no burdens to bear, they all have been resting well, eating well, and I believe praying well too. I may not be wrong to even state that those who are imprisoned outwardly are released inwardly and those who are released outwardly may be imprisoned inwardly. The real freedom is the freedom of the soul. With no outward entanglement, the soul will definitely be released. With the exercise of the spirit, the soul would be freed further.

That said, I still pray strongly for their release as they are needed by their relatives, the church, and the official work they are involved in. To this effect, we pray every night for their well being and much more for their release.

Lord, release our brothers in confinement.

Blending Today

Today, the 31st of Oct, being a national holiday, we fellowshipped and made a plan for a one day Indoor and Outdoor Blending. When the proposal was made by a brother I had no idea what to do with the holiday. Later, as I considered together with the brothers and the saints in fellowship, we all felt good to use the day for blending purpose. Therefore, the outcome of the consideration was apt and clear.

For the first in the church in Gurugram, we gave all the responsibility of practical arrangement for blending to the young people. From planning to execution, for all the food purchase, preparation, and cleaning up, the young people exercised and they did their parts very well. Some parents and saints attended the blending and enjoyed together with the young people.

Our young people have been so much blessed by the Lord. They all are very talented in many aspects. From studies to sports and other extra curriculum activities, I have discovered that they have been very blessed by the Lord. May the Lord preserve their youth for His divine purpose.

Personally, it was a joy for me to witness the young people functioning positively for the blending. My participation was mostly in initiating the meeting and giving them guidance wherever and whenever needed. Of course, I enjoyed singing with them the young people songs after a long long time. And also enjoyed the food cooked by them. Given the opportunity and guiding them properly, the young people can be very useful in the Lord’s hand.

After lunch lovefeast we went for an outdoor blending. Though the park we intended to visit first was closed, we went to another botanical garden where the young people enjoyed playing games and sports. Though I could not mingle with them in sports, I had my share in just taking a walk on the park. Surprisingly, we met a family who was by faith Catholic and established a contact with them. Perhaps, this may be the open family that the Lord may wish to gain.

After the outdoor blending, we all came back to the meeting hall and continued blending by singing and fellowshipping, followed by another lovefeast dinner. Thus, the day was well spent in blending.

Praise the Lord for the one day blending! The young people were happy and the saints too. What a wonderful church life!

Fellowship on Children's Work

As a parent of teenagers children, my wife and I have been invited to join the serving ones and parents of the teenagers in the church life. Generally, I would leave the matter to the serving ones, but since it was mandatory for the parent to join too, I joined such a fellowship. It has been a blessing to join this fellowship as I came.to know the importance of the children in the church for the Lord move. If our own children were not gained and become useful to the Lord, it would be even more difficult to gain outsiders and make them useful to the Lord. If our own children were shepherd properly, we will have a bright future for the Lord’s testimony. As they grow up, they will become more and more useful to the Lord and can even become channels to gain many more people for Christ and the church. They will even become our own coworkers to serve the Lord together with us, as a family, as the church. What a glorious testimony this would be!

Timothy of the Bible is a good pattern of how a child has been sheoeheded at home to eventually become an apostle, a coworker, and an useful vessel to the Lord. There can be many more Timothys raise up in the church life, provided the children work is taken care now.

And that from a babe you have known the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise unto salvation through the faith which is in Christ Jesus. (2 Timothy 3:15, RecVer)

From generation to generation, the Lord has been gaining people for His testimony. Timothy is a good pattern, from his grandmother to his mother and to him, all in the family become useful to the Lord! The secret is children service.

Having been reminded of the unfeigned faith in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded dwells also in you. (2 Timothy 1:5, RecVer)

Children's work is a one piece work as it affects the young people, college students, and finally the working saints. Our own children gained for the Lord in the church life is much better than gaining outsiders. If our children are perfected today, they can become our brothers and sisters, co-working with us as the seeds of the kingdom when they go to college campuses. This is the best increase that a church can gain. In addition, they can further become our own coworkers. They are seeds of the kingdom.

And the field is the world; and the good seed, these are the sons of the kingdom; and the tares are the sons of the evil one; (Matthew 13:38, RecVer)

Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the sojourners of the dispersion of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, (1 Peter 1:1, RecVer)

Train up a child according to the way he should go; Even when he is old, he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6, RecVer)

The dispersion is the scattered seeds among the gentiles. Peter considered the dispersed Jews as the seeds sown among the gentiles. This is a good example of how our own children as the seeds of the gospel of the kingdom can impact the spread of the kingdom of God. Like the Jews in dispersion spread the gospel to where they were scattered, our children can spread the gospel to wherever they would go in the future. Be it school or college or university campuses, the gospel will be spread wherever they go. To raise up a proper generation, we need a proper children work today. Our view concerning the children work should be long-term. This is a pipe line, a comprehensive service, children work.

We should encourage the children to love the Lord, His word, and the people. In that way, they will be useful to the Lord. We need to have general contact and specific young people for perfecting. It is a warfare as many young people were and are being l distracted by the world. We have to help them pursue the high peak truth, live a God-man life, and propagate. All for the fulfillment of God’s divine economy.

Lord, bless all our children for Yourself!

Truth Constitution

This is good and acceptable in the sight of our Savior God, Who desires all men to be saved and to come to the full knowledge of the truth. (1 Timothy 2:3-4, RecVer)

Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth. (John 17:17, RecVer)

The Lord has been faithfully leading us in His recovery to go and on in our Christian life in the church life. At least to my knowledge and experience, I can testify how much we have blessed by the Lord through His word. The truth is abundant in the church life with the rich supply of the ministry of the word. Any saints who are open to the Lord and to the ministry have ample opportunities to read, study, pursue, and be constituted with the truth. Moreover, this constitution, in many cases, will be followed by the experience and enjoyment of the truth resulting in the growth and maturity in life.

A week ago, the responsible brothers of the churches in India dived into the recent training, video messages, held at Warsaw, Poland, ITERO Oct 2024. As I also attended the training, I was so much supplied by the ministry of the word on the reality of the kingdom of God. The entrance and the living of the kingdom of God have been made very clear to me. Though all Christians have been born into the kingdom of God, it is also imperative to live by the divine life through which the entrance was made possible. The living out of the divine life is the need of the hour to live in the reality of the kingdom. Only a mere entrance through regeneration is not sufficient. In this regard, I was convicted of my living sometimes when I did not live by the divine life. I failed in many instances. What a warning! Yet one thing that encouraged me is the grace that the Lord has been gracing me with, to spend time with Him everyday in prayer. I truly have been enjoying my time with the Lord, a personal relationship and fellowship with the Lord.

In the church in Gurugram too, we have a daily Life-study reading every night from 10 to 10:15 PM with extra 5 minutes of prayer. Now, this also is an add-on to the lives of many saints. Another opportunity to be constitute with the truth. The reading portion may be short, but day by day, word by word, the truth has been gradually wrought into the lives of the saints. I could see that some saints have been supplied and revived by this daily truth pursuing.

In addition, there are the home meetings, group meetings, daily morning revival, weekly PSRP, Bible readings, and truth pursuing in groups. All these are the blessed channels the Lord has been blessing us for our truth constitution and then further for our experience and enjoyment of Him.

As for me, in addition to all these, I have an extra portion to pursue the ministry everyday with the serving ones in the literature service, and weekly with those involved in the distribution service. If the Lord’s will be so, I hope to at least read through all the ministry books that have ever been published. I have been a beneficiary of the riches of the ministry! This is a special grace from the Lord.

Now, for our children, teenagers, and college students too, Bible reading, prayer, and truth pursuing have been arranged. As my specific service in the church is with the college students, I have been fellowshipping with them weekly and now helping them pursue the truth and also perfect them to present the truth. All these are done with the vision and burden of shepherding our young ones to live a God-man life with the rich constitution of the truth. Inward constitution of the truth will result in the outward living of the divine life.

The knowledge of the truth also delivers one from anything not of the truth. Today, there are thousands of preachers and teachers. Only the proper knowledge and experience of the truth can save one from deception and be set free from unscriptural bondages.

And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free. (John 8:32, RecVer)
All these is for God’s divine purpose to be fulfilled in us and through us.

Lord, preserve our vessels and fill us with Your divine and eternal life through the constitution of Your divine truth for the fulfillment of Your eternal economy.

Special Meetings

Let brotherly love continueDo not forget hospitality, for through this some, without knowing it, have entertained angels.

Remember those who are imprisoned as bound with them, those who are ill-treated as being yourselves also likewise treated in body.
(Hebrews 13:1-3, RecVer)
This week, we are blessed to have two saints visiting the church in Gurugram. Despite the ongoing situation of our brothers' imprisonment in Mathura for over a month now, the church life goes on with much intensity. The saints have learned by now that it is indeed the hand of God in all these for His intensified move in North India especially among the saints. Though we were very worried initially and, in fact, were gripped in some kind of fear, now all that is gone. We learn to accept whatever God allows. He knows what is best for us for His testimony. Though denied bail twice at the magistrate level and session court, we did not lose hope or heart. We still pray and pray, and the Lord will do His work in His way in His own time. The saints all over the world are aware and are praying day by day. In the midst of this, our enjoyment of the church life goes on, it intensifies, and is being uplifted!

Last Lord's Day, Tuesday, and Thursday, we enjoyed the regular meetings like never before. The saints' participation grew in number and the nature of the meetings was uplifted. In addition to having saints visiting us from Pretoria, South Africa, and Bengaluru, South India, the saints who rarely joined the meetings before also joined. The group meetings were revived. In this way, brotherly love continues. And with these saints visiting us, we were shepherded to give hospitality.

A visit of a brother was special to me as he was one of the brothers coordinating with me in the initial days of the church life in this locality some eighteen years ago. Though the Lord has allowed him to migrate to another locality and later he took up jobs leaving his full-time service, the Lord has been faithful to him and his family. Through thick and thin, he has been braving through hard times. Though he was on a business trip, I took his visit as an opportunity for me to fellowship and blend with him and also exercise giving hospitality, which I am still learning.  In this way, Hebrews 13:1 and 2 became very subjective to me.

Yes, let brother love continue no matter what the situation of the brother may be, and not to forget hospitality, perhaps, I might be entertaining an angel. With this view, I also took him to join the Life-study pursuing meeting and then dropped him at New Delhi Airport T2. Though he insisted on going by metro, deep within I left the need for me to drop him by car, which I did. In fact, that turned out to be the longest drive I ever had to the Airport. A drive of two hours which generally would take about forty-five minutes. The traffic was terrible and I could hardly drive at about 10-15 km per hour. But that gave us more time to fellowship as we snailed through the capital city congestion. In all the fellowship, I was very much restricted by the spirit not to opine on anything good or bad. My responsibility was just to give hospitality and pay heed to whatever brother felt to share. No opinion. We are all in the Lord's hand. He is working on each one of us.

Besides, last Wednesday a couple of saints visited the brothers in the prison in Mathura and gave us a very encouraging report about the situation of the brothers. They were all rejoicing. Physically, they all had a good time of rest; doing nothing but eat and sleep. Last Lord's Day, when one sister mentioned the need to rejoice in the midst of trials, I quoted a verse and we all sang together the verse.
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Philippians 4:4
These were all the special meetings the Lord blessed the church with these days even as He brought us to experience Hebrews 13:1-3.

Special Fellowship for Prayers

Two days ago I received a call from a brother concerning the combined prayer meeting of the churches in NCR especially in relation to the ongoing situation as we have been facing persecution and that five of our brothers have been placed in confinement. This is one of the cases among others where certain anti-Christian groups joined together to purposefully persecute the believers who are a mere minority in their large influential domain. It has been one month since our brothers have been imprisoned. Since then, the churches have been praying and whatever legal steps necessary were all taken. Now the only way out is for the Lord Himself to intervene and do the needful. No matter what transpires these days, we believe in the sovereignty of God and His wise way of doing things. He knows what is best for His testimony in India, especially in North India. Therefore, we all came together online for a time of fellowship and prayer yesterday, Tuesday night, the 22nd of Oct exactly after a month of our brothers' imprisonment.

The burden and content of the fellowship were on fighting spiritual battle and building up the church. But the question looms large,"How to build up the church?"
And I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. (Matthew 16:18, RecVer)
The Lord Jesus is building His church and the gates of Hades have been opppsoing strongly ever since. As the members of the Body of Christ, we stand in oneness with the Body and fight in the victory of Christ, the Head of the Body. Fighting the spiritual battle in the Body by the following important points from the human side were fellowshipped. Once the church is built the enemy knows his time is limited. Therefore, the gates of Hades will attack the build-up church. But the gates of Hades shall not prevail. We must not have confidence in man but in God.

Experience the Death and Resurrection of the Lord

The Lord Jesus went through the process of death and resurrection right after He unveiled the mystery concerning Himself and the church and made the greatest prophecy ever, the building up of His church. In this way, He set a pattern for us to follow in building up the church. he went through death and resurrection and defeated the gates of Hades. This signifies that believers today too should experience the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus in fighting the spiritual battle for the building up of the church. For this, we should no longer trust ourselves but trust in the God of resurrection. No longer begging or commanding prayer, but praying prayers of victory and ascension.
Whom God has raised up, having loosed the pangs of death, since it was not possible for Him to be held by it. (Acts 2:24, RecVer)
For we do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, of our affliction which befell us in Asia, that we were excessively burdened, beyond our power, so that we despaired even of living. Indeed we ourselves had the response of death in ourselves, that we should not base our confidence on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. 2 Cor. 1:8-9
In this battle, the enemy targets the soul of the believers, especially the mind and the emotion. The mind immediately runs wild if not renewed and if not under control. The mind likes to opine and speculate under the deception of the enemy to lead the believers astray in the wilderness of darkness. Then, the emotion follows to cause anxiety, worry, and a sense of insecurity. This is how the enemy makes the vulnerable believers his prey and makes them his defeated foes. Therefore, with our mind renewed we should simply believe in the word of God, the fact God has accomplished at the cross where He already defeated Satan, and also be delivered from the emotional influences but stand with the fact that Christ in His resurrection loosed the pangs of death. We must also know that Christ is the living One.
And the living One; and I became dead, and behold, I am living forever and ever; and I have the keys of death and of Hades. (Revelation of John 1:18, RecVer)
The Lord’s presence is with us forever and ever in the midst of all these trials and temptations.
For we do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, of our affliction which befell us in Asia, that we were excessively burdened, beyond our power, so that we despaired even of living. (2 Corinthians 1:8, RecVer)
Even the apostle had already experienced affliction to a greater degree. Including, despair which is even lower than depression, a state of losing all hope. Nonetheless, we should base our confidence not on ourselves but on God alone.
Indeed we ourselves had the response of death in ourselves, that we should not base our confidence on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead; (2 Corinthians 1:9, RecVer)
Prayer

In the midst of hardship, when people are suffering calamities, God is using all these to fulfill His heart's desire. For this, we must pray. Pray the age-turning prayer, like Daniel. Pray the victory prayers in ascension. Positionally, we must be in ascension in the spirit, to pray from victory to victory.
And raised us up together with Him and seated us together with Him in the heavenlies in Christ Jesus, (Ephesians 2:6, RecVer)
And I saw, and behold, a white horse, and he who sits on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went forth conquering and to conquer. (Revelation of John 6:2, RecVer)

Hand Ourselves Over, Consecrate Ourselves to God

Finally, there is a need for absolute consecration to God. As we see all these calamities, we must no longer live to the earth but live to the Lord. We must pray that God may have His way to come in and turn this age. We are not afraid of persecution and opposition. We are afraid that there may not be many who are consecrated fully to the Lord.

Despite all that has been transpiring these days, the word of the Lord must be remembered. The gospel of the kingdom must be continued to preach. The way and timing of preaching may change, but the gospel must be preached and preached until the end of the age.
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole inhabited earth for a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come. (Matthew 24:14, RecVer)
This special fellowship on prayers accomplished two important things for the church in Gurugram. First, the strengthening of the saints in times like this for prayers. Second, the house where we met, we met after a couple of years. Thus a family has been recovered for the church life meeting in their home. After much struggles spiritually for this family, the Lord marvelously worked out things in His favor for the sake of His testimony in this family in Gurugram. I personally can see the hands of God in all these. This is the work of the Lord and He will gain His heart's desire in North India.

Lord, I praise and worship You for this special fellowship and prayers. May Your will be done and may Your kingdom come. Amen!
