Eight Years in Blessed Tie

Who can find a worthy woman? For her price is far above jewels.
The heart of her husband trusts in her, And he will have no lack of gain.
She does him good and not evil All the days of her life. Proverbs 31:10

Today, the Lord has graced us through eight years of a blessed marriage life. The grace and mercy of the Lord has been so abounding since I got married to my better half. She is the perfect match for me and has been my best help meet I could ever imagine. In every aspects of my Christian life, church life, personal life, family life, service life, she has been my secret back bone, my pillar, supporting me through all thick and thin.

Besides, she has been a lot of encouragement and catalyst in boosting my spiritual growth; even mental growth and physical fitness too. What more blessing can I expect from God other than the pearl of my life. Who indeed can find such a worthy women, if not for God who gives and blesses? "The heart of her husband trusts in her, And he will have no lack of gain.My heart trusted her whole heartedly, and never once for this eight years of marriage, I ever doubted her on any matter, not even an iota. Be it in family matters, or things or in money matter, I have trusted her fully, next to God.

She is so simple, so sincere and so sweet, though sour sometimes, for my own good. She indeed is the perfect match for me.

And all these years, the Lord has blessed us with three beautiful and lovely children. Not even one of them I ever expected, they are all the Lord's blessings, and what more can I say?  In fact, all of them were a "miracle" to me. I did not ask for them, nor did I hope or ever wish for them, the Lord just blesses, and I just thank the Lord, God of blessings. Often times, when I went before the Lord and considered all what He has done for me and my wife, I can only praise Him and thank Him. Tears of joy sprang from within my inward being. The Lord is so good, and words does not suffice to explain the inexplicable. Except to whisper in thanksgiving, "Lord, thank you..."

Before I got married, I wished that my wife matches the words in Proverbs 31. And since the day I got saved, I had been praying for my marriage that the Lord's perfect will be done, even at the cost of my own choice. The Lord has been faithful to listen to my humble prayer. Today, as I consider before the Lord, the blessed marriage and family life He blessed me with, the verses literally matches that of my help meet, if to be paraphrased in today's practical equivalence.
  • 13 She seeks wool and flax, And delights to work with her hands.
  • 14 She is like the merchant ships; She brings her food from afar.
  • 15 She rises also while it is still night And gives food to her household, And their task to her serving girls.
  • 16 She considers a field and buys it; With the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard.
  • 17 She girds her loins with strength And makes strong her arms.
  • 18 She samples her merchandise to be sure it is good; Her lamp does not go out by night.
  • 19 She lays her hands to the distaff, And her hands hold on to the spindle.
  • 20 She stretches out her hand to the afflicted, And she reaches out her hands to the needy.
  • 21 She does not fear for her household when it snows, For all her household are clothed with scarlet.
  • 22 She makes coverings for herself; Her clothing is fine linen and purple.
  • 23 Her husband is known in the gates, When he sits among the elders of the land.
  • 24 She makes linen garments and sells them And delivers girdles to the merchant.
  • 25 Strength and dignity are her clothing, And she happily looks forward to the time to come.
  • 26 She opens her mouth with wisdom, And the law of kindness is on her tongue.
  • 27 She watches closely over the ways of her household And does not eat the bread of idleness.
  • 28 Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her, saying:
  • 29 Many daughters have done worthily, But you surpass them all.
To the Lord's blessings I opined none, yet open myself for more of His blessings for the coming years. That we may "love the Lord more and love one another more, one with the Lord more and one with one another more," has been our daily prayer, and may it ever be so, in prayer and in reality all the days of our lives.

Because out from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.Romans 11:36
