Global Prayer 2020

24 HR/30 DAYS GLOBAL WATCHMAN PRAYER
Unceasingly Pray. 1 Thessalonians 5:17
In the history of the Lord's recovery, and perhaps, even in the history of mankind such a colossal global round the clock watchman prayer was carried in the past 30 days. It was initiated with 21 days, and later extended to 30 days, and further encouraged to pray daily with this 30 prayer burdens to be repeated, one each day.

This was indeed and will be an eternal memory. I was so excited about this 24-hour global prayer. I personally picked up the burden to register my family, the serving ones in the literature service, and also the church in my locality to pick a slot and pray. Besides, every day, I posted the day's prayer burden to the saints in the church, the literature service, and also to the saints in the churches in the North East. It was such an encouragement to me and a blessing to be able to participate in such a global prayer. I have done my bit. My participation time slots were 8:45-9:00 AM, 5:00-5:30 PM, and 9:00-9:30 PM daily for the entire 30 days.

The Lord has revived the intensity and frequency of my prayer life, both personal and corporate. The Lord also graced me to be able to do the posting of the burden daily in the morning without fail and also to not miss any of the prayer time as registered.

Thank the Lord for His sovereignty in leading the co-workers to lead the recovery in this direction of prayer with suggested prayer burdens that were apt to meet the need of the time. I was full of appreciation for the co-workers' wisdom and maturity in leading all the churches globally. Therefore, as a memorial and for future reference, I am posting these maturely drafted prayer points.

Lord, grace me to be Your man of prayer in oneness with Your Body.

SUGGESTED POINTS FOR PRAYER

1. Prayer according to Matthew 6

Pray for the Father's name to be sanctified (Matt. 6:9b), for His kingdom to come (Matt. 6:10a; Rev. 11:15); and for His will to be done on the earth (Matt. 6:10b).

Eph. 1:9-10—Making known to us the mystery of His will according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Himself, unto the economy of the fullness of the times, to head up all things in Christ, the things in the heavens and the things on the earth, in Him.

Dan. 4:17—This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the decision is a command of the holy ones, to the intent that the living may know that the Most High is the Ruler over the kingdom of men and gives it to whomever He wills and sets up over it the lowliest of men.

4. Prayer for those in authority

5. Prayer for the United States

Pray for the sovereign Lord to continue to preserve and bless the United States (in the midst of the current worldwide pandemic) as the base for His ultimate move over the whole earth to gain a people who know the wonderful, all-inclusive Christ, who experience Him as their life and live Him, and who are transformed and built up to be His Body and ultimately His prepared bride for His return (Acts 17:26-27; Phil. 1:21a; Rom. 12:2; Eph. 4:16; Rev. 19:7).

Acts 17:26-27—And He made from one every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, determining beforehand their appointed seasons and the boundaries of their dwelling, that they might seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, even though He is not far from each one of us.

Rev. 6:1-2—And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures saying like the sound of thunder, Come. And I saw, and behold, a white horse, and he who sits on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went forth conquering and to conquer.

Pray for the God of all grace to comfort, perfect, and establish the brothers and sisters throughout the earth, especially those who are persecuted, oppressed, and suffering deprivation and trials (1 Pet. 4:12-14; 5:9-10).

1 Pet. 4:12-14—Beloved, do not think that the fiery ordeal among you, coming to you for a trial, is strange, as if it were a strange thing happening to you; but inasmuch as you share in the sufferings of Christ, rejoice, so that also at the revelation of His glory you may rejoice exultingly. If you are reproached in the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you.

1 Pet. 5:9-10—Him withstand, being firm in your faith, knowing that the same sufferings are being accomplished among your brotherhood in the world. But the God of all grace, He who has called you into His eternal glory in Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself perfect, establish, strengthen, and ground you.

8. Prayer for the dormant, wayward, & backslidden

Pray for the dormant believers to be enlivened, the wayward Christians to be recovered, and the backslidden saints to be restored to the Lord and to the fellowship of the church (Eph. 5:14; James 5:19; Gal. 6:1).

Eph. 5:14—Therefore He says, Awake, sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.

James 5:19—My brothers, if any one among you is led astray from the truth and someone turns him back.

Gal. 6:1—Brothers, even if a man is overtaken in some offense, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of meekness, looking to yourself lest you also be tempted.

9. Prayer for the scattered believers

Pray for the scattered believers to see the heavenly vision of God’s eternal purpose, to be stirred up in their spirits to seek the deeper things of Christ and God’s building, and to take the way of God’s New Testament economy (Acts 9:2, Acts 26:19; Ezra 1:5; Ezek. 36:24).

Acts. 9:2—And asked for letters from him to Damascus for the synagogues, so that if he found any who were of the Way, both men and women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.

10. Prayer for one accord

Rom. 15:6—That with one accord you may with one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Col. 3:10-11—And have put on the new man, which is being renewed unto full knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, where there cannot be Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free man, but Christ is all and in all.

11. Prayer for the churches

Pray for the Lord to strengthen, uphold, and prosper the churches in every country in His recovery as the testimony of Jesus (Acts 16:5; Eph. 1:19; Col. 1:11; Rev. 1:9).

Rev. 1:9—I John, your brother and fellow partaker in the tribulation and kingdom and endurance in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.

12. Prayer for the co-workers & leading brothers

Pray for the Lord to supply the co-workers and leading brothers and grant them wisdom to lead and shepherd His people onward in these days (Acts 20:28; 1 Pet. 5:2; Heb. 13:17).

Acts 20:28—Take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among whom the Holy Spirit has placed you as overseers to shepherd the church of God, which He obtained through His own blood.

1 Pet. 5:2—Shepherd the flock of God among you, overseeing not under compulsion but willingly, according to God; not by seeking gain through base means but eagerly.

Heb. 13:17—Obey the ones leading you and submit to them, for they watch over your souls as those who will render an account, that they may do this with joy and not groaning; for this would be unprofitable to you.

13. Prayer for the saints to be sanctified

Pray for the saints to be preserved and sanctified in their tripartite being, to be separated unto God from common and sinful things (1 Thes. 5:22-23), and to not be conformed to this age but to be transformed that they may prove the will of God by living the Body life (Rom 12:2, 4-5).

1 Thes. 5:22-23—Abstain from every kind of evil. And the God of peace Himself sanctify you wholly, and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Rom. 12:2—And do not be fashioned according to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of the mind that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and well pleasing and perfect.

Rom. 12:4-5—For just as in one body we have many members, and all the members do not have the same function, so we who are many are one Body in Christ, and individually members one of another.

14. Prayer to possess the all-inclusive Christ

Pray for the saints to fully possess their allotted portion of the all-inclusive, all-extensive Christ by being strengthened with power through the Spirit into their inner man that Christ may make His home in their hearts (Col. 1:12; Eph. 3:8, 17-18).

Col. 1:12—Giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you for a share of the allotted portion of the saints in the light.

Eph. 3:8—To me, less than the least of all saints, was this grace given to announce to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ as the gospel.

Eph. 3:17-18—That Christ may make His home in your hearts through faith, that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be full of strength to apprehend with all the saints what the breadth and length and height and depth are.

15. Prayer for the building up of the Body

Pray for the saints to walk in Christ by the spirit in their daily life, to grow up into Christ in all things, and to be knit and built together as the Body of Christ (Col. 2:6-7; Rom. 8:4; Eph. 4:15-16).

Col. 2:6-7—As therefore you have received the Christ, Jesus the Lord, walk in Him, having been rooted and being built up in Him, and being established in the faith even as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.

Rom. 8:4—That the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the spirit.

Eph. 4:15-16—But holding to truth in love, we may grow up into Him in all things, who is the Head, Christ, out from whom all the Body, being joined together and being knit together through every joint of the rich supply and through the operation in the measure of each one part, causes the growth of the Body unto the building up of itself in love.

16. Prayer for the God-ordained way

Pray for the saints to use the present circumstances to cultivate a church life that is more vital, more prevailing, more fruitful, and more according to the God-ordained way through the release of the organic function of every saint (Acts 2:46-47; 1 Pet. 4:10; 1 Cor. 14:26; Eph. 4:12, 16).

Acts 2:46-47—And day by day, continuing steadfastly with one accord in the temple and breaking bread from house to house, they partook of their food with exultation and simplicity of heart, praising God and having grace with all the people. And the Lord added together day by day those who were being saved.

1 Pet. 4:10—Each one, as he has received a gift, ministering it among yourselves as good stewards of the varied grace of God.

1 Cor. 14:26—What then, brothers? Whenever you come together, each one has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has a tongue, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up.

Eph. 4:12, 16—For the perfecting of the saints unto the work of the ministry, unto the building up of the Body of Christ, out from whom all the Body, being joined together and being knit together through every joint of the rich supply and through the operation in the measure of each one part, causes the growth of the Body unto the building up of itself in love.

17. Prayer for the saints to be laboring priests

Pray for all the saints to be energized as laboring priests of the gospel, who preach the Word in season and out of season to their relatives, friends, colleagues, and people they meet, in order to gain them and offer them as a sanctified offering to God (Rom. 15:16; 2 Tim. 4:2; Acts 10:24).

Rom. 15:16—That I might be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles, a laboring priest of the gospel of God, in order that the offering of the Gentiles might be acceptable, having been sanctified in the Holy Spirit.

2 Tim. 4:2—Proclaim the word; be ready in season and out of season; convict, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and teaching.

Acts 10:24—And on the next day they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius was awaiting them, having called together his relatives and intimate friends.

18. Prayer to continue steadfastly

Pray for the saints to continue steadfastly in prayer and for their prayer life to be built up personally, in small groups, and in the church meetings until prayer is unceasing (Acts 2:42; Matt. 6:6; 18:19-20; Col. 4:2; 1 Thes. 5:17).

Acts 2:42—And they continued steadfastly in the teaching and the fellowship of the apostles, in the breaking of bread and the prayers.

Matt. 6:6—But you, when you pray, enter into your private room, and shut your door and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will repay you.

Matt. 18:19-20—Again, truly I say to you that if two of you are in harmony on earth concerning any matter for which they ask, it will be done for them from My Father who is in the heavens. For where there are two or three gathered into My name, there am I in their midst.

Col. 4:2—Persevere in prayer, watching in it with thanksgiving.

19. Prayer for the overcomers

Pray for the saints to respond to the Lord’s calling and be constituted as overcomers to be the Lord's dispensational instrument to turn the age (Rev. 2:7, 11, 17, 26; 3:5, 12, 21; 12:5, 10-11; 14:1-5).

Rev. 3:21—He who overcomes, to him I will give to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat with My Father on His throne.

Rev. 12:5—And she brought forth a son, a man-child, who is to shepherd all the nations with an iron rod; and her child was caught up to God and to His throne.

Rev. 12:10-11—And I heard a loud voice in heaven saying, Now has come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ, for the accuser of our brothers has been cast down, who accuses them before our God day and night. And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they loved not their soul-life even unto death.

20. Prayer to bind the enemy

Pray for the enemy, Satan, to be bound, for the works of the devil to be destroyed, for the accuser of the brothers to be cast down, and for the saints to be avenged of their adversary (Mark 3:27; 1 John 3:8; Rev. 12:10-11; Luke 18:7).

Mark. 3:27But no one can enter into the house of the strong man and thoroughly plunder his goods unless he first binds the strong man, and then he will thoroughly plunder his house.

1 John. 3:8He who practices sin is of the devil, because the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

Rev. 12:10-11And I heard a loud voice in heaven saying, Now has come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ, for the accuser of our brothers has been cast down, who accuses them before our God day and night. And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they loved not their soul-life even unto death.

Luke 18:7And will not God by all means carry out the avenging of His chosen ones, who cry to Him day and night, though He is long-suffering over them?

21. Prayer for the central work of God

Pray for all the saints to open their entire being to the Lord so that He may carry out the central work of God—God building Himself in Christ into us and building us into Himself for the building up of the church as the Body of Christ (Gal. 4:19; Eph. 3:14-21; Matt. 16:18; Eph. 2:21-22; 1 Cor. 12:27).

Gal. 4:19—My children, with whom I travail again in birth until Christ is formed in you.

Eph. 3:16-17, 19b—That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit into the inner man, that Christ may make His home in your hearts through faith...that you may be filled unto all the fullness of God.

Matt. 16:18—And I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.

Eph. 2:21-22—In whom all the building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord; in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling place of God in spirit.

1 Cor. 12:27—Now you are the Body of Christ, and members individually.

22. Prayer for blending

Pray for the saints to live the Christian life and the church life according to the practical points concerning blending, having the blending of all the individual members of the Body of Christ, all the churches in certain districts, all the co-workers, and all the elders through fellowship and by doing everything through the cross and by the Spirit to minister Christ for the Body, with the goal that in the Lord’s recovery we will be the reality of the Body of Christ (1 Cor. 12:12-13, 23-27).

1 Cor. 12:12-13—For even as the body is one and has many members, yet all the members of the body, being many, are one body, so also is the Christ. For also in one Spirit we were all baptized into one Body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and were all given to drink one Spirit.

1 Cor. 12:23-27—And those members of the body which we consider to be less honorable, these we clothe with more abundant honor; and our uncomely members come to have more abundant comeliness, but our comely members have no need. But God has blended the body together, giving more abundant honor to the member that lacked, that there would be no division in the body, but that the members would have the same care for one another. And whether one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or one member is glorified, all the members rejoice with it. Now you are the Body of Christ, and members individually.

23. Prayer for God’s righteous judgment

Pray for the saints to offer prayers to which Christ as another Angel can add incense so that from the throne of God the fire of righteous judgment will be cast to the earth to deal with godlessness and lawlessness (Rev. 8:1-8).

Rev. 8:1-8—And when He opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them. And another Angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer, and much incense was given to Him to offer with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense went up with the prayers of the saints out of the hand of the Angel before God. And the Angel took the censer and filled it with the fire of the altar and cast it to the earth; and there were thunders and voices and lightnings and an earthquake. And the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to trumpet. And the first trumpeted, and there was hail and fire mingled with blood, and it was cast to the earth; and the third part of the earth was burned up, and the third part of the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up. And the second angel trumpeted, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea; and the third part of the sea became blood.

24. Prayer to seek first the kingdom of God

Pray for the saints not to be anxious about human life at the present time but to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and serve God alone, not storing up treasures for themselves on earth (Matt. 6:19-34).

Matt. 6:19-21—Do not store up for yourselves treasures on the earth, where moth and rust consume and where thieves dig through and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven...For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Matt. 6:24-25—No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will hold to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. Because of this, I say to you, Do not be anxious for your life, what you should eat or what you should drink; nor for your body, what you should put on. Is not the life more than food, and the body than clothing?

Matt. 6:31, 33—Therefore do not be anxious, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, With what shall we be clothed?...But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

25. Prayer to have a hidden life with the Father

Pray for the saints, as kingdom people, children of the heavenly Father, to have a spiritual life that corresponds with the mysterious, hidden nature of the divine life, praying to their heavenly Father in secret, experiencing some secret enjoyment of the Father, and receiving some secret answer from Him (Matt. 6:1-6; Col. 3:3).

Matt. 6:1-6—But take care not to do your righteousness before men in order to be gazed at by them; otherwise, you have no reward with your Father who is in the heavens. Therefore when you give alms, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be glorified by men. Truly I say to you, They have their reward in full. But you, when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your alms may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will repay you. And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites, because they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners, so that they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you, They have their reward in full. But you, when you pray, enter into your private room, and shut your door and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will repay you.

Col. 3:3—For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

26. Prayer for maturity

Pray for the saints to grow in life unto maturity so that “in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be richly and bountifully supplied” to them (2 Pet. 1:5-11).

2 Pet. 1:5-11—And for this very reason also, adding all diligence, supply bountifully in your faith virtue; and in virtue, knowledge; and in knowledge, self-control; and in self-control, endurance; and in endurance, godliness; and in godliness, brotherly love; and in brotherly love, love. For these things, existing in you and abounding, constitute you neither idle nor unfruitful unto the full knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he in whom these things are not present is blind, being shortsighted, having forgotten the cleansing of his past sins. Therefore, brothers, be the more diligent to make your calling and selection firm, for doing these things you shall by no means ever stumble. For in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be richly and bountifully supplied to you.

27. Prayer to be saved from loving the present age

Pray for all the saints, especially the young ones and new ones, to not love the present age but to be saved from “this crooked generation” and “be children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverted generation, among whom [they] shine as luminaries in the world” (2 Tim. 4:10; Acts 2:40; Phil. 2:15).

2 Tim. 4:10—For Demas has abandoned me, having loved the present age.

Acts 2:40—And with many other words he solemnly testified and exhorted them, saying, Be saved from this crooked generation.

Phil. 2:15—That you may be blameless and guileless, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverted generation, among whom you shine as luminaries in the world.

28. Prayer for the preparation of the bride

Pray for the saints to be watchful and prudent and to experience all that is needed to be “prepared as a bride adorned for her husband” and to be “called to the marriage dinner of the Lamb” (Matt. 24:40-47; Rev. 21:2; 19:7-9).

Matt. 24:40-42—At that time two men will be in the field; one is taken and one is left. Two women will be grinding at the mill; one is taken and one is left. Watch therefore, for you do not know on what day your Lord comes.

Matt. 24:45-47—Who then is the faithful and prudent slave, whom the master has set over his household to give them food at the proper time? Blessed is that slave whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing. Truly I say to you that he will set him over all his possessions.

Rev. 21:2—And I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

Rev. 19:7, 9—Let us rejoice and exult, and let us give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready...And he said to me, Write, Blessed are they who are called to the marriage dinner of the Lamb.

29. Prayer for a new revival

Pray for the Lord’s recovery to experience a new revival, a revival that has never occurred in history, which will be the issue of our successful practice of the high peak revelations of God’s economy, including the God-man living, the universal shepherding, and the blending for the reality of the Body of Christ and of the one new man (1 Tim. 1:3-4; Gal. 2:20; Phil. 1:21a; John 21:15-17; 1 Cor. 12:24; Col. 3:10-11).

1 Tim. 1:3-4—Even as I exhorted you, when I was going into Macedonia, to remain in Ephesus in order that you might charge certain ones not to teach different things nor to give heed to myths and unending genealogies, which produce questionings rather than God's economy, which is in faith.

Gal. 2:20—I am crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live in faith, the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.

Phil. 1:21a—For to me, to live is Christ.

John 21:15-17—Then when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these? He said to Him, Yes, Lord, You know that I love You. He said to him, Feed My lambs. He said to him again a second time, Simon, son of John, do you love Me? He said to Him, Yes, Lord, You know that I love You. He said to him, Shepherd My sheep. He said to him the third time, Simon, son of John, do you love Me? Peter was grieved that He said to him the third time, Do you love Me? And he said to Him, Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You. Jesus said to him, Feed My sheep.

1 Cor. 12:24—But our comely members have no need. But God has blended the body together, giving more abundant honor to the member that lacked.

Col. 3:10-11—And have put on the new man, which is being renewed unto full knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, where there cannot be Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free man, but Christ is all and in all.

30. Prayer for the Lord’s return

Pray for the Lord Jesus to come back quickly (Phil. 3:20; 2 Tim. 4:8; Titus 2:13; Rev. 22:20).

Phil. 3:20—So that seasons of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord and that He may send the Christ, who has been previously appointed for you, Jesus.

2 Tim. 4:8—Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, with which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will recompense me in that day, and not only me but also all those who have loved His appearing.

Titus 2:13—Awaiting the blessed hope, even the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Rev. 22:20—He who testifies these things says, Yes, I come quickly. Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!

Lesson in Serving

As the Lord burdened me to fellowship with the young people, I paired myself with two young brothers for prayer and fellowship over the phone. With these two, we also formed an IT Cell for developing the church's website and other technical things.

As we started our prayer over the phone, I realized the need to take care of the young people in a very living way. Whatever I wanted the young people to be in spiritual matters I must also be that. I wanted them to exercise their spirit strongly, so I have to exercise my spirit strongly first. They are not kids anymore that I can force them to do things. I am learning how to take care of some specific needs of the young people by being a pattern to them.

With these brothers, I am also coordinating for the church website development and maintenance. Though I wanted the brother to wholly take care of it, I still need to take the lead in showing them how to do it. Now, I am reusing the software skill I learned in my college days. In designing, my mind has also been much renewed. For the church's website or for the gospel invitation cards of the church, I had the privilege of overseeing and designing the cards. As I considered the technical designing before the Lord, the Lord gave me an idea as to how it should look. A proper, elegant, professional, and worthy of the holy and righteous God. It was an amazing experience in getting ideas though prayer and consideration and then implementing them. What a new experience altogether.

Besides, after all the designs I need to get the approval of the brothers before I could post it to the saints for their use. In this way, I am learning the lesson of coordination from my fellow brothers in the church administration and also from the young brothers I am learning to coordinate with.

May the Lord train and perfect each one of us in all our services and bless our labor and coordination for His testimony here in Guugram.

The Holy Bible: Thirty Fourth Time

As the Lord burdened me in reading through the Bible every year, the burden kept increasing to read up to twice a year, and then from this year, to read thrice a year. In 2019, the Lord graced me to read through twice, this year 2020, I figured out that I could actually read through thrice with the ultimate burden that one day, the times of reading the Bible will be proportionate to my physical age.

To arrive at the burden, I did simple math and came out with this a simple formula.
The Holy Bible has 1,189 chapters. There are 929 chapters in the Old Testament and 260 chapters in the New Testament. This gives a total of 1,189 chapters (on average, 18 per book). Psalm 117, the shortest chapter, is also the middle chapter of the Bible, being the 595th Chapter.
If on the average I read 10 chapters a day, I can actually complete reading the Holy Bible 3 times a year. To read through 10 chapters a day takes about 1 hour, which is very manageable. One hour in the word of God is a normal deal with God who gives 24 hours a day. Of course, another 1 hour will be needed for prayer daily, 1 more hour for truth pursuing, and 1 more hour for home meeting or small group meeting daily. Still 4 hours per day is a very reasonable deal with God who gives 24 hours a day. I am still left 20 hours to do other things.
This basic finding paved a new way for me to fervently pursue the Lord in His word and prayer and in the practice and enjoyment of the church life. As I have started with this new schedule, the Lord graced me to read through the Holy Bible for the thirty-fourth time and for the first time for this year 2020. For this year, I am looking to the Lord for more grace to complete reading through the Bible another two more times, to make a total of three times a year.

As I read the Bible the Lord also has been speaking to me directly in many instances. I open myself to the Lord by coming to the word. He is faithful to minister to me the timely word. I simply open my mouth wide, and He will do the filling.
Psalms 81:10 I am Jehovah your God, Who brought you up out of the land of Egypt; Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.
Thank you, Lord, for gracing me to read Your Word daily. Ever grace me with this grace to be filled with Thy word.
Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to God.l it.

Care for the Needy

Deuteronomy 15:7   If among you there is a needy one amidst your brothers within any of your gates in your land, which Jehovah your God is giving you, you shall not harden your heart and you shall not close up your hand from your needy brother;
15:8   But you must open your hand to him, and you must lend enough for his need in whatever he lacks.
15:10  You must give to him, and your heart shall not be displeased when you give to him; for on account of this matter Jehovah your God will bless you in all your work and in all your undertakings.
15:11  For the needy will not cease being in the land; therefore I am commanding you, saying, You must open your hand to your brother, to the poor one with you and to the needy one with you in your land.
The principle set up by God in the Old Testament still holds true with the New Testament saints too in taking care of the poor and needy saints. As a Christian and even as a human being we must be humane yet divine in caring for the needy people, especially the needy saints.

COVID-19, the global pandemic, has thrown millions into joblessness and a good number of our new ones and their relatives got affected too. As the church in Gurugram, we cannot turn a blind eye to the new ones we are shepherding. This is a good time to show brotherly love in words and deeds too to the needy saints.

I have been fellowshipping with and shepherding a brother daily. Through the shepherding, he has become more and more open to fellowship his personal matters and whatever the Lord touched him to open up to me. As a brother, I listened to all that he has to say and bring it for fellowship with my fellow brothers with whom I am coordination for the church life. In fellowship, we felt it was the Lord's doing to help the needy ones in a wise way. Not to give them an impression of the church helping whenever they need help but in a hidden way of shepherding help. Therefore, we started to help a brother and his relatives at least for their basic needs of food for survival during this time. For they have lost their jobs and their future is very uncertain. Though we are not rich in ourselves either, we feel good to help within our capacity and take care of the needy saints.

I personally was helped by the brothers' fellowship to take care of the timely needs of the needy saints. As brothers in the church, we even fellowshipped week by week to see if there is any needy saints that need timely help. We all brothers agreed in one accord to help the needy saints sufficiently, not luxuriously. The Lord even burdened some saints to offer specifically for this need.

What a joy indeed to be able to care for the needy saints! The joy of the one who received help is our joy too. This helping of the needy saints is not to receive blessing from the Lord as promised in the word. We leave that matter to the Lord. But our rightful responsibility is to help according to the Lord's leading.
You must open your hand to your brother, to the poor one with you and to the needy one with you in your land.

Young People Fellowship

Beginning this year, the Lord burdened me to take care of the young people in the church in Gruugram. Initially, I was a little hesitant, but gradually the Lord proved to me that this was the burden assigned to me by  Himself. In the beginning, I simply followed the normal procedure that has been carried on for years. Gradually, the Lord gave me the light to lead the young people in a living way.

First, I encouraged them to read the Bible daily with the goal of reading through the Bible once a week. Second, they need to spend time with the Lord in prayer, at least 15 minutes daily, and increase it to an hour or two. Third, they need to pursue at least a message a week in addition to the daily morning revival pursuit. Fourth, they need to pair up with one another for the daily morning revival and prayer, of which, I paired up with two brothers. Fifth, they need to maintain their Goodland record, their personal experiences and enjoyment of the Lord. Sixth, if they have any questions or concerns, they can contact me for a personal fellowship for which I will maintain confidentiality. Seventh, every Lord's day afternoon we would meet for Young People Fellowship when we would sing and pray together, and they would all share their truth learning from the past week, and also share the top portion of their Goodland, and then wind up the fellowship with "open fellowship" or Q and A, if any.

I have been spending time with the young people week by week; encouraging them and fellowshipping with them. I enjoyed their fellowship and I hope they enjoyed my fellowship too. To strengthen the shepherding further, with some families and serving ones, we started a weekly pursuit with fellowship and prayer for shepherding the young people. The best time of a human life is youth. To shepherd them at this age is very crucial; to build them up in every practical way possible is an urgent need. Be it their daily living, studies, spiritual life, etc., I would love to offer help to them in whatever way I can. I have some definite goals for all them that they all would grow up to love the Lord more than anything else, join the full-time training one day, be well educated academically, and become proper and useful vessels tot he Lord as pillars to bear the Lord's testimony. They are the next generation or the Lord's move. For this, I volunteer willingly to shepherd the young flock in the house of God.
1 Peter 5:2 Shepherd the flock of God among you, overseeing not under compulsion but willingly, according to God; not by seeking gain through base means but eagerly.
Lord, bless all the young people You gave for my shepherding.

Online Gospel Meeting

Proclaim the word; be ready in season and out of season; convict, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and teaching. 2 Timothy 4:2
Amidst the nationwide lockdown, who would have ever imagined that a Gospel Meeting could be conducted. That's what I thought and regret the days I did not go out for gospel preaching before the lockdown. Things have completely changed now. It will be difficult, if not impossible, to meet people face to face and preach the gospel. Coronavirus has changed the whole social life unexpectedly. Nevertheless, the burden for the gospel has been intensified all the more despite the grim social and economical situation.

A week ago on Saturday we had a fellowship on contacting our contacts with gospel flash cards. In fact, this is one of the best ways to contact people during this time. Along with this burden, came the burden to contact at least one contact by phone call daily for the gospel. Then, came the burden for gospel meeting online.

Last Wednesday, we brothers fellowshipped on how to practically strengthen and preach the gospel. Then, we all felt good to conduct a gospel meeting online on Friday. But, for the preparation, we only had Thursday, just one day. Since the matter was so urgent and we could not meet frequently with the church's daily online truth pursuit going on, I could design the invitation card for gospel meeting only on Thursday night.

Only by Friday morning, the actual invitation to our new ones for the gospel meeting started. For this, a Zoom account was purchased, and some urgent practical fellowship on the meeting was done. And I was assigned to preach the gospel.

Since everything we did was for the first time, no one really knew how to practically coordinate. So I picked up the burden to single handedly do all the practical things. Effectively, I just got roughly 45 minutes to prepare for the message, that too, for the presentation of crucial Bible verses.

The meeting was schedule for 7:00 PM for Friday, and we were suppose to start the conference call by 6:30 PM for prayer. I needed to host the meeting online, prepare the presentation, do the compere, and also preach the gospel message. I literally was under heavy pressure to multi task all the responsibilities. I could log in only by 6:45 PM and I didn't even have time to groom myself, which was also needed as I would be seen online by all the gospel friends. As I hosted the call, with the hymns singing going on, I asked my wife to wet my handkerchief to wash my face and bring my tie. I did the wiping of my face and tying of my tie with the singing of hymn and monitoring the online conference altogether. Only after I did a quick grooming, I turned my video camera on. Then, welcomed all the gospel friends and formally started the meeting. A brother was to share his testimony, but due to technical issue, he was simply not audible. So I had to jump in to preach the gospel message, physically and mentally unprepared in timing.

But all these were done in fellowship and with the prayer of the Body. I also had a personal face time with the Lord in prayer in the morning and the night before. The Lord gave me the words to minister and the burden to release. Surprisingly, 51 devices were logged in, about 41 gospel friends' devices were recorded. After I shared the word of God, my brother coordinated to strengthened the gospel message further. Then, we signed off with a hymn. Then all my mental and physical pressure were released. All the while, my spirit was very exercised and I enjoyed the Lord's supply throughout the meeting.

The feedbacks poured in one by one after the meeting. The following day, more feedbacks came in. I was surprised to learn that what I thought was so sudden and lacked preparation had a good impact on the gospel friends. As we brothers fellowshipped, we were so thankful to the Lord for His leading and blessing. Ultimately, it was He who led, anointed, and blessed the gospel meeting.

Praise the Lord! My first experience of an online gospel meeting will be an eternal memory.

May the Lord save everyone who heard the gospel of Jesus Christ! I declare in faith that they will be saved one day, if not, are already saved through the hearing of faith.
